What is Homogenizing?

Homogenizing is an aluminum heat treatment process used to improve the uniformity of microstructure in aluminum alloys. It involves heating the aluminum to a specific temperature for a specific set period, enabling diffusion of alloying elements throughout the part. Homogenizing is particularly important for certain aluminum alloys used in aerospace and automotive industries.

Given high temperatures, typically 950- 1200°F (500- 650 °C), high-quality, well-engineered atmosphere-moving equipment is critical. At best, incorrect or lower quality equipment will lead to inconsistent process conditions, low energy efficiency, and elevated maintenance costs. At worst, such equipment can create real safety issues for your team and generate excessive quality waste & asset downtime.
