HIGH TEMPERATURE AXIAL FLOW FANS
Very large flow volumes against low static pressures
The axial fan is defined as a unit where air flows through the blades and parallel to the shaft it’s mounted on. Axial flow fans are usually specified for very large flow volumes against low static pressures. IGE uses several variations of blade configurations including radial curved, radially convoluted curve, radial inverse curve, reversible flow and propeller type.
IGE’s high temperature axial fans have been developed and refined over more than a century. They are suitable for continuous heavy-duty applications at temperatures up to 2200°F (1200°C) and are offered in various configurations including cartridges with and without shrouds. IGE offers standard designs from 50 CFM to >260,000 CFM with typical static pressures up to 4” w.c. and has the capability to custom engineer equipment to meet your needs.
IGE’s axial flow fans are commonly used in the aluminum, steel, and commercial heat treating industries. Common applications include annealing, homogenizing, and tempering.
IGE High Temperature Axial Flow Fans
FP-series 6-blade high temperature axial flow fans
FP-series fans are available from 50 CFM to 32,000 CFM at up to 4” w.c. with 6” to 29” wheel diameters. Six temperature grades are available with a maximum operating temperature of 1900°F (1040°C). The shaft sizes and maximum overhang lengths have been designed for maximum life with trouble free operation. These fans are commonly used in the aluminum and steel industries with typical applications in tempering, annealing, and carburizing.
X-07-series 7-blade high temperature axial flow fans
X-07-series fans are available from 10,000 CFM to 258,000 CFM at up to 3.5” w.c. with 31” to 88” wheel diameters. Six temperature grades are available with a maximum operating temperature of 1780°F (970°C). These fans are the workhorses of the aluminum industry and are commonly found in aluminum annealing furnaces.
XR-10-series 10-blade, reversible high temperature axial flow fans
XR-10-series fans are available from 9,000 CFM to 250,000 CFM at up to 2.5” w.c. with 31” to 85” wheel diameters. Six temperature grades are available with a maximum operating temperature of 1780°F (970°C). These fans are commonly used in aluminum homogenizer furnaces and stress relieving furnaces. IGE’s unique reversible designs improve temperature uniformity and cycle times.
Type P and extreme temperature AMX-series fans
Type P (propeller-style) fans are available from 400 CFM to 10,000 CFM for use in constrained furnace spaces. Wheels are available from 15” to 36” outer diameters.
AMX-series fans are paired with direct-drive sealed AC motors to enable extreme temperature (2200°F or 1200°C) operation at low flow rates: 800-1200 CFM with vacuum-ready sealing.
