A Taiwan-based aluminum producer was experiencing significant downtime on its homogenizer furnaces driven by backward inclined fans originally supplied by a European fan manufacturer.
RESULTS:
IGE designed and delivered direct-fit replacements using a multiblade fan wheel architecture that could drive significantly more flow in the same footprint and drastically improve reliability. The change in fan wheel architecture enabled a reduction in RPM and shaft size, delivering outsized reliability improvements.
The result: >25% reduction in furnace cycle times and 8x longer fan service life.
