HIGH TEMPERATURE RADIAL BLADE FANS
Medium flow volumes against medium to high static pressures
Radial Blade fans, also known as paddle wheel fans, are usually specified for medium flow volumes against medium to high static pressures, especially in applications with material or dust in the airstream. Due to its rugged construction and structural integrity, it is suitable for continuous heavy duty applications involving temperatures up to 2200°F (1205°C). IGE offers standard designs from 100 CFM to 45,000 CFM with 20” w.c. static pressure on standard units and specialized construction to deliver up to 34” w.c. static pressure.
Since introducing the industry standard PW-35, the king of carburizing, in the 1950s, IGE has continually refined its designs, setting new standards for reliability and shaft sealing, and introducing reversible designs.
IGE’s forward curved multiblade fans are commonly used in the commercial heat treating, steel, and automotive & commercial transportation industries. Common applications include carburizing, tempering, and nitriding.
IGE High Temperature Radial Blade Fans
PW-series high temperature radial blade fans
PW-series fans are available from 100 CFM to 10,000 CFM at up to 15” w.c. static pressure. Standard construction has a maximum operating temperature of 2100°F (1150°C) with specialty construction up to 2200°F (1205°C).
These fan wheels are fully cast alloy with integral shafts to prevent any erosion of material between bore and shaft; elimination of key stock, set screws, or locking nuts that might be heat affected; and exposure in furnace of only the high-quality heat-resistant alloy. All of these features assist in maintaining balance and assuring long life of the fan assembly. The most common application for PW-series fans is carburizing, earning IGE’s industry standard PW-35 the nickname the king of carburizing.
PI-series high temperature radial blade fans
PI-series fans are available from 100 CFM to 20,000 CFM at up to 20” w.c. static pressure with standard construction or 36” w.c. with specialty construction. Six temperature grades are available with a maximum operating temperature of 1780°F (970°C). PI-series fans are available in half-width and full-width and are direct-fit replacements for legacy Garden City Fan Company equipment.
PIM-series & PWM-series high temperature radial blade fans with integrated direct-drive sealed motors
PIM-series high temperature fan units are radial blade fan wheels mounted directly to sealed, direct drive AC motors to deliver leak-proof operation, which is especially critical in vacuum furnace applications and dangerous atmosphere processes. They are available from 250 CFM to 23,000 CFM with up to 18” w.c. static pressure and operation up to 1780°F (970°C).
PWM-series high temperature fan units are radial blade fan wheels mounted directly to sealed, direct drive AC motors to deliver leak-proof operation. They are available from 240 CFM to 10,750 CFM with up to 13” w.c. static pressure and operation up to 2050°F (1120°C).
