Aluminum

Challenge

A California-based manufacturer required a robust fan system for their aluminum homogenizer project, demanding continuous 24/7/365 operation under extreme process temperatures reaching 1,200°F. Maintaining atmosphere control, process stability, and equipment reliability under such severe thermal and duty cycle conditions was critical to achieving optimal product quality and throughput. The customer needed a solution engineered for non-stop, high-temperature operation with minimized maintenance requirements and maximized service life.

Results

By implementing eight IGE MI-365FC fan units, the customer achieved a combined system output of 280,000+ CFM, enabling excellent temperature uniformity and reduced cycle times in their aluminum heat treatment operations. The advanced engineering of the fan units—including innovative shaft sealing and precision balancing—has drastically reduced maintenance needs, enhanced operational safety, and more than doubled expected service life compared to conventional equipment, resulting in increased production uptime and lower total cost of ownership.
